BISHKEK, Nov. 22 (YPA) – The Yemeni National Junior Football Team began their campaign in the Asian Qualifiers by securing a valuable and deserved two-nil victory over host nation Kyrgyzstan in the first round of Group B matches.
The young stars of Yemen secured their first three points in the group, where only the first-place team qualifies for the Asian Finals. The first goal for the “Young Reds” came in the 56th minute via Saber Sanad, before his teammate Silan Bashir added the second goal, capitalizing on a defensive error.
The Yemeni national team is set to play their second match the day after tomorrow, Monday, against the Guam national team, aiming to strengthen their lead and take firm steps towards clinching the qualification ticket.
