SHABWA, Nov. 20 (YPA) – An attack with an improvised explosive device (IED) targeted a military vehicle belonging to the so-called “Sixth Saiqa Brigade,” a faction backed by the UAE, on Thursday while it was passing through “Sara’ valley in the Al-Musayna’ah area of Al-Saeed district, south of Ataq city, the center of Shabwah governorate in eastern Yemen.
A local source confirmed the explosion but did not report any casualties among the soldiers.
The source suggested that Al-Qaeda-affiliated elements loyal to the Islah party, which are active in the Al-Saeed area, are likely behind the attack.
This attack is part of a series of ambush operations carried out by terrorist elements against UAE-funded factions since the latter seized control of Islah’s camps following armed clashes in August 2022.
