WASHINGTON, Nov. 19 (YPA) – Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman announced his country’s ambition to join normalization agreements with “Israel”, noting that the Kingdom “wants to be part of the Abraham Accords,” but he linked this to the “realization of the two-state solution.”
This notable statement came during Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s meeting with President Donald Trump at the White House.
The announcement is considered an official affirmation of Riyadh’s desire to move forward toward normalization, justifying the step within the framework of the two-state solution.
Prominent Saudi media outlets, including Al-Arabiya and Al-Hadath TV channels, quickly deleted the statement from their news broadcasts.
In contrast, Al-Jazeera channel quoted the Crown Prince’s statement directly.
The conditional Saudi justification resembles the rationale previously presented by the UAE when it signed its normalization agreement, which was marketed as aiming to prevent “Israel” from annexing territories in the West Bank.
