Naim Qassem: US is not honest mediator, but sponsor of Israeli aggression on Lebanon

BEIRUT, Oct. 31 (YPA) – Hezbollah’s Secretary-General, Sheikh Naim Qassem, has asserted that the United States is not an honest mediator in Lebanon but is rather the primary sponsor of Israeli aggression and contributes to its expansion.

In a speech on Friday, Sheikh Qassem pointed out that statements by US envoys are often accompanied by an increase in Israeli attacks, and include justification for “Israel” while burdening Lebanon with responsibility and pressuring it to forfeit its capabilities and sovereignty.

He questioned Washington’s silence regarding thousands of Israeli violations and aggressions, including the killing of civilians and the targeting of the Lebanese Army and UNIFIL forces.

Sheikh Qassem stressed that the strength of the Lebanese people’s connection to their land is firmer than the enemy’s military power, reiterating the rejection of surrender. He also called on the Lebanese government to achieve national sovereignty by expelling the Israeli enemy and supporting the army to confront the aggression.
