HODEIDA, Oct. 30 (YPA) – The Executive Mine Action Center (EMAC) on Thursday carried out a large-scale destruction operation of significant quantities of coalition-left mines, including cluster bombs, and various explosives in Hodeida province.
In a statement, the center’s executive director, Brigadier General Ali Safra, explained that the operation destroyed about 200 anti-personnel mines and 90 anti-vehicle mines in area of Kilo 16 and Al Durayhimi district.
The operation was supported by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
The statement confirmed the continuation of clearance operations in the affected districts of Hodeida as part of a plan to secure contaminated areas.
It noted that field teams were working despite challenges and limited resources to ensure the safety of citizens and facilitate their return.
