Local official’s son found murdered in Mukalla

HADRAMOUT, Oct. 17 (YPA) – A local official’s son had found murdered in Mukalla city, the capital of Hadramout province.

Human rights sources said that the body of Awad, the son of Abdullah al-Awbathani, the director-general of the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation office in the Hadramaut coast, was found on Thursday on the outskirts of Mukalla.

The sources reported that the body was found dumped next to his car in the Falak area. Initial examinations were indicated traces of a gunshot wound, suggesting he was kidnapped and assassinated. The young man had disappeared since the beginning of last week.

Popular and human rights circles demanded a comprehensive and swift investigation to uncover the circumstances of the crime and the identity of the perpetrators, given the increasing incidence of security chaos in areas controlled by UAE-backed factions.

Activists hold the coalition-affiliated authorities responsible for this deterioration.
