Electricity service collapses in Aden, with continuous outage exceeds 21 hours

ADEN, Oct. 16 (YPA) – The city of Aden, which is under the Saudi-led coalition control, is witnessing a complete collapse of its electricity service, with power outages surpassing 21 continuous hours a day.

Sources within the Aden Electricity Corporation reported that the crisis has worsened due to the depletion of fuel at the generation plants, coupled with the total shutdown of a key generator at the “Petromasila” station.

The sources clarified that the generation deficit has exceeded 15 hours, given the near-total halt of diesel and fuel oil-powered stations, and the solar power station’s inability to cover more than a small fraction of the city’s needs.

This severe service deterioration has paralyzed various commercial and service activities, amid complete silence from the pro-coalition government and a lack of any urgent solutions to address the disaster.
