Hamas delegation: The continued bombing of Gaza poses a major challenge to the release of captives

SHARM EL-SHEIKH, Oct. 07 (YPA) – The first round of talks between mediators and Hamas in Sharm el-Sheikh has concluded, Al Jazeera reported, citing sources.

According to the sources, the meeting was described as positive, setting out a roadmap and mechanisms for the current round of negotiations

The Hamas delegation reportedly emphasized to mediators that the continued bombing of Gaza poses a major challenge to the release of the Israeli captives.

The delegation included two senior Hamas figures — Khalil al-Hayya and Zaher Jabarin — both of whom survived a recent assassination attempt in Doha.
