Islah Party detains commander from UAE-funded factions in Taiz; American dog killed in clashes

TAIZ, Oct. 05 (YPS) – Elements of the Islah Party loyal to the Saudi-led coalition, on Saturday, arrested a commander belonging to the UAE-funded factions of “Tareq Saleh” following armed confrontations in the Al-Ma’afir district, south of Taiz province.

A local source confirmed that Islah militants apprehended the battalion commander, identified as Izzeddine Mohammed Ahmed Saleh Al-Badaigi, following armed clashes. The confrontations occurred after Al-Badaigi was pursued for firing at an Islah security checkpoint last week.

The clashes resulted in the injury of Al-Badaigi’s driver and the disabling of his military vehicle. Additionally, an “American dog” accompanying the commander was killed.

Al-Badaigi was reportedly serving as a commander of a battalion in the UAE-funded “11th Brigade.”
