GSF calls on countries of flotilla’s members to provide naval escort to Gaza

WORLD, Sept. 30 (YPA) – Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) aimed at breaking the Israeli blockade on Gaza has called on countries of flotilla’s members mission to provide naval escort for the flotilla as it sails toward the Gaza Strip.

In a statement, the flotilla’s organizers urged the governments of Turkey, Italy, Spain, and all other nations to translate their support into concrete commitments and actions, reaffirming “the right to freedom of navigation and humanitarian access under international law.”

The flotilla resumed its voyage yesterday toward Gaza after a brief halt due to technical issues affecting three of its vessels. The fleet is now approximately 305 nautical miles from Gaza’s shores.

Participants are now preparing to enter the “orange zone”, where the Israeli navy is expected to attempt to intercept the flotilla in the coming days.
