KHARTOUM, Sept. 24 (YPA) – At least 15 civilians were killed and 12 others wounded in a drone attack carried out by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on Tuesday targeting a crowded market in the western Sudanese city of El Fasher, according to medical sources and volunteer groups.
Local health sources confirmed that several of the wounded were in critical condition, amid a severe shortage of medical supplies and qualified personnel, exacerbating the precarious health situation in the city.
The El Fasher Resistance Committees Coordination, a volunteer group, said that the attack targeted a popular market crowded with civilians, killing or wounding more than 27 people.
The Darfur region, and El Fasher in particular, have witnessed a significant escalation in fighting between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the RSF since May 10, 2024, amid growing fears of a wider conflict.
