Hamas denounces US veto of Gaza ceasefire resolution

GAZA, Sept. 19 (YPA) – The Islamic Resistance Movement  “Hamas” has denounced the US administration for vetoing a UN Security Council resolution calling for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, describing the move as “blatant complicity and active involvement in the genocide being perpetrated by the Zionist occupation against the Palestinian people.”

In a statement on Thursday, Hamas said that the US veto against the resolution was a green light for the Israeli occupation regime to persist in its crimes and its attack on Gaza City.

The Movement appreciated the position of the 10 states that submitted the draft resolution to the UN Security Council, urging them, other countries and international bodies to continue exerting pressure on the government of Benjamin Netanyahu to end its aggression and genocide in Gaza.
