DAMASCUS, Sept. 09 (YPA) – Israeli warplanes carried out a series of airstrikes early Tuesday targeting multiple military sites across several Syrian provinces, resulting in the destruction of weapons depots and Russian-made air defense systems that were reportedly undergoing maintenance.
Field sources reported that the strikes hit weapons storage facilities in the village of Shinshar in the Homs countryside and the Al-Rahba area in Deir Ezzor.
Two additional strikes targeted a military barracks in Saqoubin, near Latakia, where a Russian “Pantsir” air defense system was reportedly under repair.
In a separate incident, Israeli aircraft also launched an attack on the ancient city of Palmyra in eastern Homs, marking the second such strike in recent days.
Syrian official sources have not issued any statements regarding the extent of damage or possible casualties resulting from the attacks.
