WEST BANK, Aug. 28 (YPA) – The National Campaign to Retrieve Martyrs’ Bodies, a Palestinian advocacy group, reported today that “Israel” is holding the bodies of 726 Palestinians in its morgues, including 256 buried in so-called “cemeteries of numbers.”
According to the group, 469 of the bodies have been held since “Israel” resumed its policy of withholding bodies in 2015, indicating a sharp escalation in recent years.
The group stated that among those withheld are the bodies of 67 children, 85 prisoners, and 10 women, raising concerns about the humanitarian and legal implications of the policy.
It also revealed that since the beginning of what it described as a “war of extermination” on Gaza on October 7, 2023, “Israel” has held the bodies of over 1,500 Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, currently kept under inhumane conditions at the Sde Teiman military camp.
