Israeli occupation kills 61 residents in Gaza in 24-hour attack

GAZA, Aug. 23 (YPA) – The Gaza-based Ministry of Health announced on Saturday that the death toll from genocidal war and starvation resulting from the Israeli aggression and siege has risen to 62,622 martyrs and 157,673 injuries since October 7, 2023.

The ministry said in its daily report that It reported that 61 bodies and 308 injuries received to hospitals in the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours as a result of the Israeli attacks on the Strip.

The statement noted that the number of aid victims who arrived at hospitals over the past 24 hours reached 16 martyrs, with 111 wounded.

It confirmed that hospitals in the Gaza Strip recorded eight new deaths due to famine and malnutrition, including two children, bringing the total number of deaths to 281, including 114 children.

The statement added: “A number of victims are still trapped under the rubble and on the streets, where ambulance and civil defense crews are unable to reach them at this time.”
