Israeli occupation practices brutal torture against Gaza detainees

GAZA, Aug. 22 (YPA) – The Prisoners’ Information Office revealed on Thursday horrific testimonies that Israeli occupation carried out against Palestinian detainees from the Gaza Strip inside its prisons.

The detainees affirmed, after their release, that they were subjected to brutal torture and serious violations inside the occupation prisons.

The office explained in a statement that the testimonies documented medical crimes and sexual assaults, including rape, noting that these practices led to the deaths of dozens of prisoners as a result of the severe physical and psychological torture they were subjected to.

According to statistics published by the office, the number of martyrs from Gaza whose identities had been identified were 46, out of a total of 76 prisoners and detainees who have been martyred since the start of the Israeli aggression on October 7, 2023.

The statement emphasized that these crimes represented systematic violations that amount to war crimes,” calling on human rights and international organizations to take urgent action to stop what it described as the ongoing massacre behind bars.
