NEW YORK, Aug. 17 (YPA) – Tens of thousands of protesters took to the streets of Manhattan, New York, in a major march for humanity, under the slogan “Stop the Starvation of Gaza.”
They demanded an end to the “genocide” in the Gaza Strip and an end to US aid to Israel, stressing that US support is being used to finance a systematic starvation campaign against civilians.
Human rights and humanitarian organizations, as well as musical bands representing 200 organizations supporting justice and peace, participated in the marches to express their solidarity with the Palestinian people and their support for their legitimate rights.
The demonstrators expressed their rejection of the continued occupation and deadly policies, stressing that this march is not just a protest, but a clear statement that activists and human rights defenders will not stand idly by in the face of a humanitarian tragedy unfolding in public.
