Hamas calls for escalation, popular mobilization on “Friday of Rage”

GAZA, Aug. 14 (YPA) – Hamas movement has called on the Palestinian people in the cities, villages, and camps of the West Bank to participate widely and actively in the “Day of Rage” events scheduled this Friday in support of the Gaza Strip and in rejection of the occupation’s plans to control the West Bank.

The movement said in a news statement on Thursday that the call came amid the ongoing war of genocide, siege, and starvation on the Gaza Strip, and the escalating settlement campaign led by the occupation government, most recently Israeli occupation’s Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich’s plan to build thousands of settlement units.

The statement affirmed that the response to these projects “will be on the ground, through popular escalation and resistance using all its tools”, emphasizing the importance of defending land, homes, and farms against annexation and confiscation plans.

It also called on all national and Islamic factions, political forces, youth movements, popular committees, unions and syndicates to unite and support Palestinian people in areas threatened by settlement.

On Wednesday, the occupation’s Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich approved the construction of 3,401 housing units in the E1 settlement plan, east of Al Quds city, which would separate the northern West Bank from the southern one.
