QUDS, Aug. 13 (YPA) – About 175 reserve soldiers in the Israeli occupation army have signed a petition warning of the repercussions of implementing the plan to completely reoccupy the Gaza Strip, according to the official Israeli Broadcasting Authority on Tuesday.
The broadcaster said: “175 reserve soldiers signed the petition demanding an end to the war and the return of the kidnapped soldiers.”
In the petition, the soldiers, including combatants, appealed to the government and the General Staff, saying that “the prolongation and planned expansion of the war harms Israeli security and to put the lives of the kidnapped soldiers in grave danger”.
They added: “The continuation of the war is inflicting heavy losses on us and our families in our lives and bodies.”
Last Friday, the security cabinet approved a plan to completely reoccupy Gaza, sparking protests in the occupying state over fears for the lives of prisoners in the Strip.
