Canada says it has not exported weapons to “Israel” since 2024

OTTAWA, Aug. 04 (YPA) – Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand confirmed that her country has not exported weapons to “Israel” since the beginning of 2024.

This came in a statement in response to a report by four non-governmental organizations claiming that arms exports continued.

The statement explained that Canada has denied permits for controlled goods destined for Gaza since January 2024 and has frozen all permits related to military components, confirming that they remain suspended. The minister emphasized that the law prohibits the use of Canadian weapons to fuel conflict, with penalties imposed for any violation.

Anand added that Canadian arms manufacturers have not shipped any mortar shells to Israel, directly or indirectly.
