DHAMAR, Aug. 02 (YPA) – A woman was killed and several others injured on Friday in Al-Manar District, Dhamar Governorate, as a result of rockslide in the Naqil Bani Salama area due to heavy rainfall and flash floods, local sources reported.
According to a local official, the rockslide also resulted in the death of several sheep and livestock, and caused damage to light, medium, and heavy vehicles.
The main and secondary roads leading to the district center of Hammam Ali were completely blocked, halting all traffic in the area.
Emergency medical teams, civil defense units, traffic police, and heavy equipment from the Road Maintenance Fund, as well as local authorities from Al-Manar, Dawran and Jabal Ash-Sharq districts, rushed to the site to rescue the injured, clear debris, and work on reopening the main road.
Authorities urged drivers and road users to exercise caution and follow traffic safety instructions, as heavy rain is expected to continue in the coming days.
