Meteorology expects heavy rains across Yemen

SANAA, Aug. 01 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning has forecast scattered showers across several provinces of Yemen.

According to the center’s weather bulletin on Friday, the rains may prevail over parts of the provinces of Saada, Amran, Hajjah, Mahweet, south and west of Sanaa, Dhamar, Rayma, Ibb, Dhalea, Lahj, Abyan, and Shabwa, as well as Taiz, Bayda, Jawf, Hadramout and Mahra

It expected also that winds might be very strong around the Socotra Archipelago, the Gulf of Aden, and the eastern and southern coasts.

The center warned citizens of thunderstorms, staying in or crossing over ground bridges and flood channels during and after rainfall, in additional to the mud and rock slides on mountain roads.
