Colombian president orders interception of coal ships heading to “Israel”

BOGOTÁ, July 26 (YPA) – Colombian President Gustavo Petro ordered, on Friday, the interception of any ship carrying coal shipments for “Israel”, affirming that his country will not be complicit in the genocide occurring in the Gaza Strip.

President Petro said in a post on X that he has issued an order to intercept any ship carrying coal to “Israel”, following the departure of a coal-loaded ship on Thursday from Ciénaga bound  for “Israel.”

Petro described the shipment as a direct challenge to his government after Colombia banned coal exports to Israel last August in protest against Israeli crimes in the Gaza Strip.
