GAZA, July 21 (YPA) – The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, welcomed on Monday the joint statement issued by the UK government and 25 other countries, calling for an immediate end to the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip and facilitating the entry of humanitarian aid through the United Nations and relevant institutions.
The statement condemned the starvation policy pursued by the Israeli occupation authorities, considering it a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.
The movement emphasized that the statement’s condemnation of the American-Zionist massacre, which claimed more than 800 Palestinian civilian lives, reveals the criminal nature of the mechanism, which has become a tool for killing and humiliation. It called for an end to this mechanism and for those responsible for its crimes to be held accountable.
Hamas considered the statement to reflect international recognition of the extent of the crimes and violations committed by the occupation government against defenseless civilians, particularly the starvation policy that has claimed the lives of more than 70 children and threatens further mass deaths amid worsening famine in the Gaza Strip.
The movement called on the signatory states to translate the statement’s content into concrete steps to end the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza, press for an end to the genocide, and ensure the urgent and sustained flow of aid.
