Gaza Health Ministry: At least 18 Palestinians died in the past 24 hours due to hunger

GAZA, July 21 (YPA) – The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that 18 starvation-related deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours, including citizen Mohammed Al-Sawafiri, who has special needs.

“What is happening in Gaza, home to more than two million people, is a silent massacre,” the ministry said in a press statement.

It reported that 86 people have died from hunger and malnutrition in Gaza since the start of the war, including 76 children and 10 adults.

It demanded immediate opening of the crossings to allow the entry of food and medicine.

The death toll from famine in Gaza is expected to rise, particularly after hospitals were overwhelmed on Sunday with a surge of patients suffering from severe weakness and loss of consciousness due to prolonged starvation.
