LONDON, July 20 (YPA) – An independent legal and grassroots initiative called “The Gaza Tribunal” was launched on Saturday in the British capital London.
The initiative aimed to expose the extent of the United Kingdom’s involvement in crimes committed against Palestinians and hold accountable those responsible for supporting the Israeli occupation with weapons and political cover.
The announcement came after prominent British MP Jeremy Corbyn had submitted a bill to the British House of Commons on June 4, 2025, calling for the formation of an independent commission of inquiry into Britain’s military and political role in the war on Gaza, including the supply of weapons and spy planes, and the use of British air force bases to support Israeli operations.
However, the British government rejected the bill during its second reading on July 4, prompting activists and human rights organizations to take action outside official frameworks and launch the “Gaza Court” as an alternative popular path to achieving justice and uncovering the truth.
The initiative’s organizers affirmed that the tribunal would focus on holding accountable British political, military, and media complicity with “Israel”, and would be based on testimonies, documents, and investigations from reliable sources.
“The British people deserve to know the full truth about the extent of their government’s complicity in genocide,” the organizers added. “That’s why we are launching the Gaza Tribunal, we will uncover the truth, and we will work to deliver justice.”
