WORLD, July 13 (YPA) – North Korean leader Kim Jong-un expressed his readiness to support measures taken by Moscow for resolution of the situation in Ukraine at the meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.
“Kim Jong Un reaffirmed the DPRK is ready to unconditionally support and encourage all the measures taken by the Russian leadership as regards the tackling of the root cause of the Ukrainian crisis,” according to KCNA.
Kim emphasized that Pyongyang and Moscow are aligned on all major strategic issues, describing their positions as a reflection of the “high-level allied relations” between the two countries.
The KCNA also reported that Lavrov conveyed Putin’s “warm greetings” to Kim, who reciprocated with thanks and his own friendly greetings to the Russian president.
On Saturday, the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that Lavrov met with leader Kim Jong-un during his official visit to North Korea.
Lavrov arrived in Wonsan on Friday on a three-day visit, during which he also held talks with his North Korean counterpart Choe Son-hui as part of the second round of strategic dialogue between the two countries.
