Palestinians injured in settler attack in Hebron

WEST BANK, July 08 (YPA) -Several Palestinians were injured late Tuesday night during an attack by Israeli settlers on the town of Surif, northwest of Hebron in the occupied West Bank, according to Palestinian sources.

The settlers reportedly targeted residents in the Al-Watwat area, near the Israeli settlement of Beit Ein, which is built on privately owned Palestinian land.

Eyewitnesses said the settlers assaulted residents and set fire to agricultural fields in the area.

Later, Israeli occupation forces entered Surif and pursued local residents who were attempting to repel the settler attack. Two individuals sustained bruises during the clashes, according to local sources.

The Palestinian Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission reported that settlers have carried out more than 2,153 attacks during the first half of this year alone, resulting in the deaths of four Palestinians.
