UN: Nearly one in three people go without eating for days

GAZA, July 08 (YPA) – The United Nations stated that “Israel” continues to obstruct humanitarian aid initiatives for Gaza, announcing that occupation authorities have rejected 3 out of 8 relief proposals from the international organization.

This was stated by UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric during his daily press briefing on Monday.

“Nearly one in three people go without eating for days,” he said.

“Fuel is a lifeline in Gaza, and Israeli authorities must allow this commodity to enter without any further delay,” he said.

He stressed that Israeli authorities must open all available crossings into Gaza, fully facilitate humanitarian access within the strip and protect civilians in line with their obligations under international humanitarian law.

“Since the end of the ceasefire in March, more than 700,000 human beings have been displaced in Gaza, many have been displaced more than once, and they have no safe place to go,” Dujarric added.
