Sanaa authorities open Bayda-Abyan road to travelers

ABYDA, July 06 (YPA) – The Sanaa-based government ‘s authorities opened on Sunday Aqabat Tharah-Mukayras-Lawdar road linking Abyan and Bayda provinces to travelers.

At the opening, Bayda governor, in the presence of Abyan governor Saleh Al-Junaidi, emphasized that the opening of the Aqabat Tharah road and all other roads reflected the directives of the leader of the revolution, Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, to alleviate the suffering of the people of the two provinces.

Bayda governor pointed out that war remnants were removed in support of the initiative to open the Bayda-Abyan road and to back the efforts of the White Flag team.

Several activists on social media circulated a video clip of the opening of the Aqabat Tharah road, starting from the Mukayras district of Bayda, in the presence of members of the “White Flags” initiative, amid widespread welcome from citizens.

They confirmed that the road remains closed by the other party, which last week announced its agreement to reopen the Lawdar-Aqabat Tharah road, under pressure from tribal sheikhs and dignitaries from Lawdar and Abyan.

Sanaa authorities have begun removing debris and obstructions to ease the suffering of travelers. This was in line with initiatives announced over the past few years, the most recent of which was last April, coinciding with the holy month of Ramadan.
