GAZA, July 06 (YPA) – The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) called for the opening of safe passages within the Gaza Strip, to ensure humanitarian aid reaching all residents in the in the Strip.
In a post on X, the WFP emphasized on Sunday the need to remove armed elements from truck routes and aid distribution points, warning that the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza must require an immediate and permanent ceasefire.
It reiterated its previous warnings about the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, noting that one in three people is deprived of food for days.
Despite the deteriorating security situation, the difficulty of accessing affected areas, and the growing despair among those in need of aid, the program confirmed that it would continue its efforts to provide life-saving food assistance within the besieged Strip.
It’s worth noting that the Gaza Strip is being suffered from a stifling blockade and severe shortages of food and humanitarian aid, amid ongoing military operations of the Israeli occupation and the lack of sufficient safe corridors for distributing relief.
