Several people killed, injured in arms depot explosion in Taiz

TAIZ, July 04 (YPA) – Weapons depots belonging to the Saudi-led coalition forces exploded on Thursday in Taiz city, southwest Yemen, resulting in a number of deaths and injuries and extensive damage to buildings and property.

Local sources reported that the explosion occurred at a depot belonging to “the 22nd Brigade,” which is affiliated with the Islah Party, causing fires and extensive damage due to the presence of ammunition and tanks.

An improvised explosive device (IED) factory adjacent to the depot was also destroyed, increasing the loss of life and property, according to the sources.

This incident underscores the ongoing chaos and internal strife plaguing areas of Taiz controlled by the coalition and the Islah Party.
