SHABWA, July 03 (YPA) – Armed clashes erupted, on Thursday, west of Shabwa Governorate, which is under the control of the UAE-backed factions, causing a mass exodus of women and children from the hell of war.
Local sources in the governorate said that “the clashes resumed after a cessation in the past few days between gunmen from two tribes of Al Shams tribes in the Hatib district, using various types of medium and heavy weapons, leading to the closure of the road linking the districts.”
The tribal gunmen used B10 shells, RPG shells, and 14.5 mm weapons, amid the absence of state authorities in the governorate, the sources added.
According to the sources, the clashes caused a state of panic and terror among women and children, forcing many families to flee to villages of neighboring tribes, indicating that tribal mediation failed to contain the situation between Al Shams tribes.
The sources indicated that the return of confrontations came days after similar confrontations between the two tribes, without limiting the return of clashes between them, amid accusations against the leadership of the Emirati factions of fueling the conflict between the tribesmen and supporting some of them with advanced weapons, including the B10 type, which the factions possess.
Shabwa tribes are drowning in systematic conflicts fueled by external parties to achieve their own agendas, amid the silence of the authorities loyal to the coalition without containing any escalation between the tribesmen, which threatens to tear apart the social fabric of the governorate, which suffers from security chaos and the systematic looting of its natural resources.
