GAZA, July 02 (YPA) – The Government Media Office in the Gaza Strip strongly condemned on Wednesday the continued involvement of the so-called “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation” (GHF) in committing systematic crimes against Palestinian civilians suffering from hunger.
This is done through aid distribution centers that have been transformed into sites resembling “mass death traps.”
In a statement, the office noted that the direct fire on civilians gathered at these points by the Israeli occupation forces and the American security company responsible for operating these sites has resulted in the killing of more than 580 civilians, the injury of more than 4,200 others, and the continued disappearance of 39 people.
This reality exposes the falsity of the humanitarian claims associated with this organization.
The office stated that numerous reports issued by international, UN, and human rights organizations have confirmed that the GHF ignores basic humanitarian principles such as neutrality, independence, and humanity. The organization also uses political and security tools to support the Israeli occupation’s projects with a well-thought-out and systematic plan.
The statement also explained that the concentration of aid distribution in the southern Gaza Strip is forcibly displacing civilians under the pressure of starvation policies, which is considered part of the ethnic cleansing practices practiced by the Israeli occupation.
It pointed to serious reports regarding the lack of transparency within the organization and legal suspicions documented by Swiss authorities. In addition, there were reports of the introduction of narcotics into aid parcels, which constitutes a blatant attack on the public health of the Palestinian people in Gaza.
The media office held the occupation and those in charge of the GHF fully responsible for these ongoing violations, calling for an urgent international investigation to uncover the circumstances of the humanitarian catastrophe that has been worsening for a month.
The office also demanded an immediate cessation of all cooperation with this organization and its replacement by neutral humanitarian organizations such as UNRWA and others to ensure the protection of civilians and put an end to the ongoing violations that the world silently witnesses.
