Ministry of Water, Environment condemns targeting water projects in Hodeidah
HODEIDAH, July 27 (YPA) – The Ministry of Water and Environment on Friday condemned the continued of the US-backed Saudi-led coalition warplanes in targeting and destruction of water facilities.
In a statement, the Ministry said that the two Saudi-led airstrikes targeted on Friday the eastern site of Bayda field, which supplied the city Hodeidah with water, leading to the suspension of five wells which were producing 10,950 cubic meters of water per day.
The statement pointed out that the coalition warplane launched a strike on the sewage station in the city of Zabid, damaging the ponds and the station building.
The ministry expressed its condemnation of the coalition countries continued to target water projects and deprive the citizens of the main source of life.
The Ministry appealed the international and humanitarian community to oblige the countries of coalition stopping these criminal acts, which are a clear violation of international and humanitarian conventions.
The statement called on the United Nations and its affiliated organizations to take serious action to stop crimes committed by coalition against Yemen.
