Iran’s FM: Two nuclear powers failed to force Tehran to surrender

TEHRAN, June 27 (YPA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi affirmed that “two nuclear powers” mobilized their efforts and plotted to force Iran and its people into surrender, but failed to achieve their objectives.

He noted that all Iranians stood united in defence of their nation under difficult circumstances, emphasizing that Iran has resisted for years to maintain  its nuclear rights while enduring all forms of sanctions and pressures.

Araghchi added that hostile powers have employed every means against Iran – including threats and negotiations – to deprive the Iranian people of their rights, yet failed in all attempts.

He pointed out that the policy of “maximum pressure” on Iran began with President Trump’s administration, which sought to intensify pressure through presidential memoranda and new threats while simultaneously calling for negotiations.

The Minister clarified that Iran’s policy does not oppose negotiations in principle, but will not negotiate under Washington’s imposed conditions.

He added that Tehran rejects direct negotiations with the United States but keeps the door open for indirect talks under new conditions.
