BRUSSELS, June 19 (YPA) – Nine European Union (EU) countries have called on the European Commission to submit proposals to end EU trade with Zionist settlements.
The letter addressed to EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Kaja Kallas was signed by the foreign ministers of Belgium, Finland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden.
The European Union is Israel’s largest trading partner, accounting for approximately one-third of its merchandise trade. Last year, bilateral trade in goods between the EU and the Israeli entity was worth €42.6 billion, although it is unclear how much of this trade is related to settlements.
