HADRAMOUT, July 26 (YPA) – Citizens from the valley districts of Hadramout province on Thursday organized a peaceful civil disobedience, paralyzing the movement in all public and private facilities in the province.
The organizers of the civil disobedience, which came in response to the call of leaders of the local authority and the Southern Transitional Council, demanded the departure of the first military region forces loyal to the military leader of Islah Party (Muslim Brotherhood), Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar.
They called for replacing al-Ahmar’s forces with the so-called Hadramiyah elite forces, after the rise of assassination operations in all districts of the Hadramout valley.
The disobedience had succeeded significantly after the shops owners and public and private facilities responded and froze their work for three hours, according to an observer.
Local sources confirmed the arrest of the journalist Mustafa Basayba and a number of activists in Qatn district by gunmen on the backdrop of the civil disobedience.
This disobedience comes within the steps of the popular escalation to demand the replacement of al-Ahmar’s forces with the elite forces in the province and accounting for the corrupters who caused the deterioration of the public services.
