ADEN, June 04 (YPA) – The sacrificial animal markets in Aden, a city under the control of the Saudi-led coalition, are witnessing a severe slowdown as most residents struggle to afford sacrificial animals amid the harsh living conditions affecting the citizens there.
Local sources revealed that the price of local sheep has surpassed 300,000 riyals, while calf prices have reached unprecedented levels.
Livestock traders in the city reported that this year, the purchase of sacrificial animals is largely restricted to traders and businessmen, leaving ordinary citizens to merely observe.
According to these traders, rams are priced between 300,000 and 500,000 riyals, while goats range from 350,000 to 1 million riyals.
The residents of Aden, governed by the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council, endure dire circumstances that have worsened with the arrival of Eid al-Adha, leaving many unable to afford even basic needs.
