56 Palestinian civilians killed in Zionist airstrikes across Gaza Strip

GAZA, May 25 (YPA) – The number of Palestinians killed in the Gaza Strip since early Saturday has risen to 56, following a series of Israeli airstrikes that have targeted  several areas across the besieged enclave, the Palestinian official News Agency WAFA reported, citing local and medical sources.

In the latest attack, five people were killed and others injured when Israeli drones struck a commercial shop belonging to the Abu Amra family in the Al-Hakar area of Deir al-Balah, in central Gaza.

Simultaneously, Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes on the northern area of Abasan Al-Jadida, east of Khan Younis in the south, while helicopters opened fire on the eastern outskirts of the town.

In northern Gaza, gunfire from Israeli military vehicles intensified near Al-Awda Hospital, posing a serious threat to patients and medical staff and further exacerbating the already dire humanitarian situation, hospital officials reported.

Earlier in the day, five Palestinians, including four women, were killed when an Israeli airstrike hit the al-Bayouk family home in Al-Fukhari, east of Khan Younis. Two others were killed in a separate strike on the Al-Mawasi area west of the city.

Meantime, rescue teams recovered the body of a member of the Al-Masri family from beneath the rubble of their destroyed home in Jorat Al-Lout, also in Khan Younis.

In another strike on Khan Younis refugee camp, two people were killed and two others injured when the Al-Araj family home was targeted by Israeli airstrikes. A woman also died from wounds she sustained in an earlier Israeli airstrike on western Khan Younis.

In Gaza City, four Palestinians were killed and others wounded in a strike on a group of civilians in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood. A second strike near the Al-Sanafur intersection in the same neighborhood killed four women, including a young girl.

In Rafah, southern Gaza, seven Palestinians were killed and more than 60 injured in a strike that targeted a gathering of civilians in the western part of the city.

In Nuseirat camp, in central Gaza, a woman was killed in an Israeli airstrike that targeted the Al-Majdalawi family home.

Palestinian Dr. Alaa Al-Najjar received the bodies of nine of her children at Nasser Medical Complex in Gaza, after they were burned to death in an Israeli airstrike on her home in Qizan Al-Najjar, south of Khan Younis.

At dawn on Saturday, four Palestinians, including two children and a woman, were killed and dozens injured in an Israeli airstrike on a residential apartment in the Al-Amal neighborhood, west of Khan Younis, in southern Gaza.

Eyewitnesses reported that several Palestinians were injured in an Israeli airstrike targeting a tent sheltering displaced people in the Al-Mawasi area, west of Khan Younis.

A brief statement issued by Al-Awda Hospital in central Gaza said that one Palestinian was killed and five others injured, including a young girl, in an Israeli strike near Al-Qassam Mosque in Nuseirat.

In a second statement, the hospital said that two Palestinians, including a child, were injured in an Israeli strike that targeted a home in eastern Al-Zawaida, central Gaza.

Israeli helicopters also fired on multiple locations in Beit Lahia and northeast Jabalia, amid continued shelling by Israeli artillery, according eyewitnesses.
