2 Lebanese citizens killed dur to Israeli raids at southern Lebanon

BEIRUT, May 21 (YPA) – Two people were killed, on Wednesday, in Israeli raids targeting the towns of Yater and Ain Bghal in southern Lebanon.

The Lebanese National News Agency quoted Yater Mayor, Khalil Kourani as saying that an Israeli drone launched a raid that led to the martyrdom of Ali Hassan Abdel Latif Sweidan while he was removing rubble with his bulldozer from his home, which had been damaged in the recent war.

Previously, the Lebanese Ministry of Health announced in a statement that an Israeli drone targeted a car in the town of Ain Baal in the Tyre district, killing one person.

The Israeli raid targeted the car on the Al-Hawsh Ain Baal road near the city of Tyre, according to the Lebanese news agency.

This comes as the Israeli enemy continues to violate the ceasefire agreement that went into effect late last year, carrying out daily attacks in southern Lebanon, and continuing to occupy five major Lebanese hills, within the areas it occupied in the last war.

On October 8, 2023, the Israeli occupation launched an aggression against Lebanon, which turned into a full-scale war on September 23, 2024, resulting in more than 4,000 martyrs and about 17,000 wounded, in addition to the displacement of about 1.4 million people.

Since the ceasefire agreement came into effect on November 27, the Israeli occupation forces have committed more than 3,000 violations, leaving at least 203 martyrs and 500 wounded, according to official data.
