Israeli occupation forces kill Palestinian teen near Nablus

WEST BANK, May 18 (YPA) – Israeli occupation forces shot and killed a Palestinian child and wounded two others on Saturday night in the village of Burqa, northwest of Nablus, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

The child, identified as 16-year-old Nidal Wael Shagnoubi, was fatally shot and his body was subsequently seized by Israeli forces, the Ministry confirmed after being notified by the General Authority for Civil Affairs.

Local sources reported that Israeli troops opened fire on three children, injuring them and detaining one who was left bleeding on the ground. Medical crews were prevented from reaching the wounded child.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society stated that its teams treated two injured children, aged 13 and 17, who were shot in the hand with live ammunition. Both were transported to the hospital for further treatment.

Witnesses said the incident occurred following an Israeli military raid on Burqa. Gunfire was heard near the illegal Israeli settlement of Homesh, which is built on the lands of the village.

In the aftermath, Israeli forces closed the main Jenin-Nablus Road near the village entrance, halting traffic in the area.
