Al-Houthi: Israeli assassination threats are nothing more than illusions to buy time

SANAA, May 17 (YPA) – Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, a member of the Supreme Political Council, commented on the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his Defense Minister’s threat to assassinate the leader of the Yemeni revolution, Sayyed Abdul-Malik, stressing that their threats are nothing more than illusions meant to buy time and pursue unattainable goals.

In a post on X account, Al-Houthi wrote: “The threats made by Netanyahu and his Defense Minister are a sale of illusions and a means to buy time with impossible objectives. It’s an attempt to evade negotiations on returning prisoners and stopping the genocide. Whoever failed in Gaza will, by God’s grace, also fail in Yemen and will achieve nothing.”

He further remarked that “the temporary entity, which is committing—with brutal savagery—further crimes of genocide and starvation in Gaza just to make Trump appear diminished in the region, is incapable of stopping the genocide or delivering aid, and is demonstrating a blatant disregard for its own existence. It is no surprise that “Israel” keeps posturing with its failed terrorist strikes in Yemen.”

Al-Houthi added: added, “The settlers must realize that Netanyahu and his government persist in failure and foolishly attempt to change the rules of engagement, which halted American support following Trump’s announced agreement and the subsequent US declaration of Truman’s withdrawal today. They have not grasped their loss of American backing.”
