SANAA, May 16 (YPA) – The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning, expected, on Friday, a hot and dry weather in the deserts and coastal plains, with maximum temperatures ranging between 37-43 degrees Celsius.
In its 24-hour weather bulletin, the center also for casted hot and humid weather along coastal areas, where maximum temperatures are expected to range between 34°C and 39°C, with relative humidity levels between 75% and 85%.
It noted that scattered rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms is expected over the governorates of the Socotra Archipelago, Taiz, Ibb, and Raymah, while scattered showers may also fall in parts of the eastern coasts, the adjacent inland areas, and the highlands of Al-Dhalea, Lahij, Abyan, and Shabwa governorates.
The Meteorological and Early Warning Center warned residents in desert, plain, and coastal areas of hot, dry, and humid weather conditions.
“Citizens are advised to stay hydrated, avoid direct sun exposure during peak hours, and take necessary precautions in areas experiencing very hot conditions,” the center said.
The center also warned citizens to avoid flood-prone areas—including stream beds, drainage ditches, and culverts—and not to attempt crossing them during or after rainfall, urging them to seek immediate shelter during thunderstorms.
