Hebrew media: Witkoff pressures Netanyahu, seeks alternative solutions to the deal

WORLD, May 15 (YPA) -Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu came under heavy pressure from US envoy Steve Witkoff, who spoke with him several times from Doha, Hebrew media reported on Thursday .

“While Israel continues to adhere to Witkoff’s original proposal, it appears that Witkoff himself no longer fully believes in his own plan and has begun presenting more flexible alternative proposals that may pave the way for a deal and alternative solutions to the prisoner exchange,” Yedioth Ahronoth reported, citing official sources.

According to Hebrew media, Netanyahu on Wednesday rejected a new proposal put forward by US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff during his visit to Doha, despite the proposal receiving positive signals from Hamas and being accepted by the mediators.

According to Israel’s Channel 12, the US envoy formulated a comprehensive plan aimed at securing the return of all Israeli detainees and removing Hamas from power in the Gaza Strip.
