DOHA, May 14 (YPA) – Qatar signed on Wednesday an agreement to purchase aircraft from the American company Boeing for Qatar Airways during the visit of US President Donald Trump to the country.
Trump said that Qatar Airways had ordered more than 160 Boeing aircraft worth more than $200 billion.
“It is the largest aircraft order in Boeing’s history. This is a very good thing,” he added.
Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and President Trump witnessed the signing ceremony in the Qatari capital, Doha.
Trump is visiting Qatar on a Gulf tour that included Saudi Arabia and will later head to the UAE.
Boeing shares rose 1.83% to $207.15 in recent trading, driven by the deal, which Trump described as the largest in the company’s history.
