Washington reveals new mechanism for delivering aid to Gaza

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, May 09 (YPA) – The US ambassador to “Israel” said on Friday that “there is a new mechanism for distributing aid in the Gaza Strip,” noting that Israel will not be part of it.

The US ambassador added in a press conference, “The greatest danger is famine in Gaza, and there will be 400 aid distribution points.”

He stressed that US President Donald Trump wants aid to be distributed in Gaza in a safe and efficient manner, according to him.

He pointed out that several partners had agreed to the aid distribution plan, noting that Israel would not be part of the distribution process.

“There are partners who will not accept Israel’s participation in bringing aid into the Gaza Strip,” he said, noting that further details regarding the distribution will be revealed.

The US ambassador explained that the new humanitarian aid mechanism does not rely on military action, and he hoped it would begin soon.

He pointed out that the Israeli  army will participate in providing security at the borders of the areas to which aid will be delivered.
