OCCUPIED PALESTINE, May 04 The Israeli occupation forces admitted to the elimination of two more of its troops by a booby-trapped tunnel shaft in southern Gaza’s Rafah on Saturday, the Israeli Occupation Army Radio reported.
The dead soldiers were identified as the following:
Cpt. Noam Ravid, 23, from the elite “Yahalom” combat engineering unit.
Staff Sgt. Yaly Seror, 20, from the elite “Yahalom” combat engineering unit.
According to an initial Zionist probe, the “Yahalom” terrorists, operating under the “Golani” Brigade, were scanning the entrance to a tunnel inside a building, when they were suddenly hit by an explosion.
“One of the wounded terrorists is listed in serious condition, while the other is moderately hurt.”
According to the occupation army radio, during a sweeping operation at around 5:30 PM, an explosive device detonated inside the tunnel shaft, killing an officer and a soldier and injuring two others, one of them seriously.
The radio added that the force had conducted initial scans and sweeps inside the building and tunnel shaft before entering, but despite this, the explosive device was not detected.
According to Haaretz newspaper, the number of soldiers killed in Gaza has reached six since “Israel” decided to breach the ceasefire.
The newspaper also revealed that a large number of officers and soldiers have informed their commanders of their intention not to take part in combat as part of the expanded Gaza operation.
