Massive fire destroys 150 palm trees in Hadramout

HADRAMOUT, May 03 (YPA) – A massive fire broke out in the Sah district of Hadramout governorate, destroying more than 150 palm trees and causing huge environmental and agricultural losses.

Local eyewitnesses confirmed that the fire broke out suddenly yesterday, and spread very quickly due to winds that hindered citizens’ extinguishing efforts, while the causes of the fire remain unknown.

They indicated that the fire did not only consume the palm trees, but also affected large areas of sesbania trees, without assessing the extent of the damage.
