Scattered thunderstorms expected over several Yemeni provinces

SANAA, May 02 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning predicted  scattered thunderstorms of varying intensity across several governorates during the next 24 hours.

In its weather bulletin, the center stated that thunderstorms of varying intensity are expected over Taiz, Ibb, Dhamar, Raymah, Sanaa, Amran, Mahwit, Hajjah, and Saada.

Scattered rainfall, occasionally accompanied by thunder, is also expected in parts of Dhalea, Bayda, the highlands of Lahj and Abyan, western Jawf, and Tihama plain.

Scattered rainfall of varying intensity also occurred outside monitoring stations in parts of Taiz, Amran, Dhamar, Sanaa, and Tihama plain.

The center warned citizens against being in or crossing flood channels and valley beds during or after rainfall, and cautioned against lightning strikes, advising people to follow safety precautions.

It also warned drivers of reduced horizontal visibility due to low clouds and rainfall, particularly on mountain roads.
